Emergency Tree Removal

When trees fall or break it is because of underlying structural stability issues, and some species are more prone to structural issues. While the weather is often responsible for exposing these structural issues, it is not always to blame.

Having a tree fall on your property can be a scary and dangerous experience.

When evaluating potential hazards on your property it is important to know that a tree’s health and its structural stability are not always correlated. Healthy trees can just as easily fall over if there is a structural stability issue present.

Hazardous Tree Damage is Not Covered by Most Insurance Policies

According to, James Hirby of “The Law Dictionary” most homeowner’s insurance policies state that it is the homeowner’s responsibility to maintain proper upkeep of the home and property. Just as a homeowner would install storm windows for regular routine maintenance. So must the home owner routinely monitor the trees in their yard for regular tree maintenance.

When homeowners fall victim to storm damage and need to file a claim with their insurance company. The insurance agency will try and determine if the tree that fell could have been considered a hazardous tree. In which case, once this is determined, the insurance company potentially will not cover the claim.

What’s the criteria for a hazardous tree?

A tree that is potentially threatening to people or property caused by multiple reasons, such as: poor quality tree care or improper tree maintenance, victim of storm damage, decay or rot, disease from pests or insects such as the ALB or Asian Longhorned Beetle.
